CHANEL: The Camellia Blooms Again in Fine Jewellery

Some flowers become symbols. For CHANEL, none carries quite the same significance as the camellia. A defining motif of Gabrielle Chanel’s universe for more than a century, the flower returns once again as a jewel, reimagined through a collection that explores its curves, proportions and enduring elegance.

The new creations unfold across three distinct expressions, CAMÉLIA BLOOM, EXTRAIT DE CAMÉLIA and BOUTON DE CAMÉLIA bringing one of the maison’s most recognisable codes into a contemporary jewellery landscape. Here, precise geometry meets femininity, while gold and diamonds give the camellia a new sense of movement and presence.

Gabrielle Chanel’s fascination with the flower began early. Drawn to its simplicity and distinctive rounded petals, she found in the camellia an almost graphic beauty. Free of thorns and fragrance, it offered an understated elegance that perfectly resonated with her vision. By 1913, she had already incorporated it into her wardrobe, transforming the flower into a signature that would eventually become inseparable from the CHANEL identity.

In jewellery, the camellia takes on an architectural quality. Its soft petals are translated into precise, flowing lines, while diamonds trace the silhouette with light. Five outer petals embrace four inner ones, creating a harmonious composition around a precious centre.

For 2026, the CHANEL Fine Jewellery Creation Studio continues to explore this enduring motif, pushing it towards a more opulent and expressive interpretation. At the heart of the collection, the CAMÉLIA BLOOM necklace introduces an intensified vision of femininity. Delicate gold chains fall across the neckline, punctuated by diamond-set camellias, while a singular statement flower takes centre stage.

Entirely pavé-set, its petals are illuminated by 97 diamonds, transforming the camellia into an almost sculptural presence. The result is both delicate and striking a piece that celebrates the flower not simply as an archival emblem, but as a living language capable of evolving with each new generation.

More than a century after Gabrielle Chanel first made the camellia her own, CHANEL continues to prove that the strongest symbols are never static. They can be enlarged, reinterpreted and reinvented without losing their essence.

The camellia, once again, is in bloom.
