WOOYOUNGMI SS27: A JOURNEY WRITTEN IN TAILORING
For Spring/Summer 2027, Wooyoungmi once again proves why the Paris-based Korean label remains one of the masters of contemporary menswear. The collection feels like a journey -not one with a clear destination, but one where East quietly meets West, where cultures blend naturally and every garment seems to have collected a memory along the way creating a wardrobe that feels sophisticated and effortlessly modern.
The collection stays rooted in what Wooyoungmi does best: relaxed silhouettes, sharp tailoring and clean lines. Oversized blazers, softly structured coats and fluid trousers create an effortless silhouette that feels both elegant and contemporary. It's tailoring with ease—not rigid or formal, but relaxed enough to move with the wearer.
Colour becomes one of the collection's biggest surprises. Lime appears again and again, bringing unexpected freshness to the runway. Paired with soft rose tones, crisp whites, warm yellows and earthy neutrals, the palette feels sun-bleached, optimistic and quietly sophisticated.
That sense continues through the fabrics and textures. Faded patterns look gently weathered, while shirts with wrinkled patterns introduce an effortless, lived-in quality. Classic glencheck is softened and reimagined, sitting comfortably next to lightweight knits, supple leather and relaxed denim.
The styling is where the collection truly comes alive. Relaxed shirts are worn with tailored trousers, while messy tucked-in shirts peek out underneath precise blazers and long coats. Soft elements are constantly balanced with structured pieces, reinforcing the dialogue between ease and precision that defines Wooyoungmi. Belts and ties are styled with little formality, while oversized bug brooches add an unexpected decorative twist. Scarves wrapped tightly around the head become one of the collection's most memorable details, hinting at both protection from the sun and a sense of wandering.
As always, the house continues to blur the lines between male and female fashion. There is a quiet softness running through the collection—not because of overtly feminine pieces, but through proportion, styling and attitude. The undone hair and almost no-make-up look only strengthen this feeling, making every outfit appear natural, personal and beautifully unforced.
While tailoring remains the foundation, it's the styling that gives the collection its character. Messily tucked shirts, scarves wrapped around the head and unexpected accessories create looks that feel instinctive rather than calculated. The result is a wardrobe that embraces imperfection without ever compromising sophistication—a balance that Wooyoungmi continues to master.
