Barcelona Becomes a Global Cultural Hub with Sónar Week 2026
Sónar Week 2026 will once again position Barcelona at the centre of global music, creativity and technological innovation, transforming the city into a multi-venue cultural ecosystem from June 18 to 21.
Rather than a single festival, Sónar now operates as a citywide network of events that connects different audiences and disciplines. In 2026, this model expands further, spreading across Fira Gran Via, Poble Espanyol, Llotja de Mar and Parc del Fòrum, each space hosting a distinct but interconnected programme.
A citywide cultural constellation
The week is structured around four main pillars. The core Sónar festival takes place at Fira Gran Via with large-scale live performances. OFFSónar returns to Poble Espanyol, focusing on club nights and label showcases. Sónar+D moves to the historic Llotja de Mar in the city centre, becoming the creative and intellectual hub of the week. Sónar District extends activity into Parc del Fòrum, alongside the return of Sónar Kids, a programme dedicated to families and younger audiences.
Together, these spaces create a continuous cultural circuit across Barcelona, linking nightlife, innovation, education and experimental art.
International lineup spanning generations of electronic music
Sónar 2026 brings together a wide range of established icons and contemporary figures from across the electronic and alternative music scenes. The lineup includes The Prodigy, Skepta, Kelis, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Dom Dolla, Modeselektor, SBTRKT (live), Goldie b2b Doc Scott featuring Medic MC, Nia Archives, Joy Orbison, Chris Stussy, Daniel Avery (live), Wata Igarashi (live), Sammy Virji and many others.
The programme highlights the festival’s continued role as a meeting point between different eras and styles of electronic music, from rave pioneers to new underground movements.
OFFSónar and the global club circuit
OFFSónar once again transforms Poble Espanyol into a hub for international club culture. The 2026 edition features a curated selection of leading electronic music brands and collectives, including Keinemusik (Rampa & Adam Port), Adriatique presents X, Baddest Behaviour by Mau P, Lone Romantic by Maceo Plex, Mochakk Calling, Fuse London and elrow.
These events reinforce Barcelona’s position as a key destination in the global club calendar.
Sónar+D at the heart of the festival week
Sónar+D will take place on June 18 and 19 at its new location in Llotja de Mar, marking a full relocation to the city centre. The programme will include talks, performances, installations and experimental formats that explore the relationship between art, digital culture and emerging technologies.
Designed as a more accessible and open platform, Sónar+D introduces independent tickets and aims to bring together creative communities, researchers and curious audiences in a shared space of exchange and experimentation.
Its presence will also extend into Fira Gran Via, where large-scale installations and a central hub will connect the ideas of Sónar+D with the main festival environment.
Sónar District and the return of Sónar Kids
Sónar District expands the festival footprint to Parc del Fòrum with a series of major club events, including Solid Grooves, Metamorfosi by Joseph Capriati and You&Me by Josh Baker. These shows reflect the diversity and evolution of contemporary underground club culture.
At the same time, Sónar Kids returns with a renewed focus on creativity and family participation. Taking place on June 20, it offers an interactive environment where children and families can explore music and artistic expression through hands-on experiences.
A fully expanded festival model
Sónar Week 2026 continues the evolution of Sónar from a single festival into a multi-location cultural system that spans the entire city. By connecting music, technology, education and club culture, Barcelona becomes a continuous stage for experimentation and creative exchange.
The result is a week where boundaries between disciplines, audiences and formats blur, reinforcing Sónar’s position as one of the most influential cultural platforms in the world.
